THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – On Saturday the Maritime men's soccer team will head to Glenside, Pennsylvania to take part in the opening weekend of the Eastern Collegiate Athletics Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Soccer Championship.
The regional site is hosted by Arcadia University, just outside of Philadelphia, and will feature a four-team bracket with third seeded Maritime taking on second seed Rutgers-Camden at 5 p.m. in the opening round on Saturday. Earlier in the day top-seeded Arcadia will host Neumann at 2 p.m. The two winners will advance to the regional final on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

There will be no complimentary admission; all fans must pay admission to the game. Admission fees are as follows: Adults - $5, Senior Citizens - $4, Students (with ID) and Children - $2, Pre-school (under 6) – Free.
Scouting #3 Maritime
Maritime ended the season with an 11-5-2 record after falling in the Skyline Conference first round matchup against Old Westbury. The Privateers enter postseason play for the first time since 2011, when the team qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship after winning the Skyline Conference title that season.
The Privateers had two players with more than a dozen points, led by junior midfielder
Parker Gallt (Las Vegas, Nev./Plainfield South (Ill.)), who recorded 15 goals and six assists to go for 36 points as he led the team in all offensive categories. Freshman midfielder
Anthony Palazzolo (Huntington Station, N.Y./Walt Whitman) had nine goal and six assists in his freshman season as both he and Gallt were named Skyline All-Conference First Team honorees.
Defensively sophomore
Justin Forrest (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) also gained First Team All-Conference accolades after leading the defensive unit with 1,595 minutes played as he also contributed with two goals and four assists. Sophomore goalkeeper
Michael Rodriguez (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) earned All-Conference Second Team honors following a campaign in which he stopped 72 shots and allowed 24 goals, while posting a .750 save percentage and a 1.34 goals against average.
Maritime meets Rutgers-Camden at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening.
Scouting #1 Arcadia
Arcadia enters the weekend with a 12-5-2 overall record with a 4-3-1 mark in the MAC Commonwealth Conference. The Knights fell in the conference semifinals to Messiah by a 5-0 score after knocking off fifth seeded Alvernia in the opening round of the postseason.
The Knights had a pair of 20-point scorers with senior Bradley McKim registering a team-high eight goals with four assists, while junior Ryan Hammer also had 20 points with six goals and a team-high eight assists. Rookie midfielder Harun Abdullahi added another 13 points with six goals and one assist.
Senior Chris Watson locked down the goal for Arcadia as he stopped 89 shots sent on target for a .788 save percentage. Watson allowed 24 goals in 17 starts and finished the season with a 1.29 goals against average.
Arcadia hosts Neumann for a 2 p.m. start on Jean Lenox West Field.
Scouting #2 Rutgers-Camden
Rutgers-Camden ended the season with an 8-8-4 overall record with a 2-5-2, which was good enough for eighth in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Rutgers-Camden did not qualify for its conference tournament.
The Scarlet Raptors had four players in double-figures in points with freshman Skyler Diggs leading the way with seven goals and 15 points. Junior midfielder Vincenzo Masitti was second on the team with 14 points including four goals, while senior Clayton Taylor was third on the squad with 13 points and was second on the team with six goals. Junior defender Darnell Brown also chimed in with five goals on just 11 shots.
In goal junior James Brett started in 18 of the team's 20 games and stopped 77 shots, while yielding 28 goals as he recorded a 1.58 goals against average and a .733 save percentage.
Rutgers-Camden squares off with Maritime in the second game on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m.
Scouting #4 Neumann
Neumann finished the 2017 season as the fourth seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), and fell to top-seeded Cabrini, who ultimately qualified for the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.
The Knights finished the season with an 8-8-1 overall record with a 5-3-1 record in the CSAC.
Neumann was led by senior forward Jake McDevitt, who led the team with 10 goals and three assists, with two of his goals coming as game-winners. Senior midfielder Christian Cortese was second on the team with nine points, but was tied with McDevitt for the team lead with 49 shots apiece.
In goal senior Perry Corsetti led the defensive effort with 67 saves as he stopped 77% of shots put on target while recording a 1.21 goals against average.
Neumann will clash with host Arcadia at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Remainder of the Field
Arcadia is hosting one of the four pods that will ultimately see one winner advance to next weekend's semifinal and final round.
William Paterson of the New Jersey Athletic Conference will host Pod 2, and will host fourth seeded Brooklyn College from the City University of New York Athletic Conference at 11 a.m. on Saturday afternoon. New York University is the two seed out of the University Athletic Association and will play the Centenary Cyclones at 2 p.m.
The two winners will meet on Sunday afternoon, with the winner of Sunday's game advancing to take on the winner of the Arcadia/Rutgers-Camden/Maritime/Neumann pod.
Penn State-Behrend of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference will host Pod 1 and will open the weekend with Penn State-Harrisburg of the Captial Athletic Conference at 11 a.m. Grove City of the Presidents' Athletic Conference will squad off with Franciscan out of the Allegheny Mountain Athletic Conference at 2 p.m.
After the winners clash on Sunday afternoon, the winner will advance to the semifinal round against the winner of Pod 4.
The fourth pod will feature last year's ECAC champion Lebanon Valley of the MAC Commonwealth Conference hosting fourth-seeded John Jay of the City University of New York Athletic Conference Fat 11 a.m. Alvernia, also of the MAC Commonwealth will serve as the two seed and will play against McDaniel of the Centennial Conference at 2 p.m.
Following Sunday's regional final, the winner will move on to take on the winner of Pod 1.
The site and time of next weekend's semifinal and final round will be determined on the four teams that remain beyond this weekend's four regional site winners.
