THROGGS NECK, NY – Two members of the Maritime College men's soccer team have been voted Second Team All-Skyline Conference by the league's head coaches. Sophomore forward
Jeferson Blanco (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) and junior forward
Jack Young (Floral Park, NY) both earned all-conference recognition for the first time in their career.
Blanco tied for the team lead with seven goals, all of which came in the Privateers' final six games. He scored twice against Medgar Evers on Oct. 6, then had another brace five days later at Sarah Lawrence. After notching Maritime's first tally in a 2-2 draw with Mount St. Mary on Oct. 22, Blanco netted the game-winner in the victory over St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Oct. 25. He also recorded one assist on the season.
Young paced the Privateers with five assists while starting all 15 games in which he appeared. He was one of just three field players to log more than 1,000 minutes of action this season. Young notched an assist in each of Maritime's first three conference games, and all five of his points this season came against Skyline opponents. In addition, he served as the Privateers' primary taker of set pieces.
They become the first Maritime players to receive All-Skyline honors since Larry Castello and Sean O'Neill were named to the Second Team in 2021.
The Privateers posted an 8-5-3 record in 2025 and just missed qualifying for the Skyline Tournament with a 3-5-3 conference mark. The eight victories were Maritime's most since the 2019 campaign.
