Privateers Unveil 2025-26 Slate

2025-26 Schedule

THROGGS NECK, NY –
A holiday trip to Daytona and two exhibition games against Division I opponents highlight the 2025-26 Maritime College men's basketball schedule, which has been announced by Head Coach DMarco BarnesThe Privateers, who reached the semifinals of the Skyline Conference Tournament for the second time in three years last season, will play 11 contests at Riesenberg Gymnasium as part of the 27-game slate.

Maritime begins the campaign with an exhibition tilt at Army on Nov. 3.  This will mark the third straight season in which the Privateers head to West Point for an exhibition.  The regular season opener is set for Nov. 8 at Ramapo.  Maritime gets its home schedule underway on Nov. 12 with a matchup against Baruch, and John Jay visits Riesenberg Gymnasium three days later.  After making the short trip to Hunter on Nov. 20, the Privateers have 10 days off before hosting Rutgers-Newark.  It will be Maritime's first-ever meeting with the Scarlet Raiders.

On Dec. 3, the Privateers visit Yale in their second exhibition game of the season.  Maritime last faced an Ivy League opponent on Nov. 20, 2022, when the Privateers took on Columbia.  The Privateers then travel to New Paltz on Dec. 9 before beginning Skyline play at Riesenberg Gymnasium against St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Dec. 13.  After hosting Montclair State on Dec. 17, Maritime heads to Florida for the Daytona Shootout, where the Privateers will take on Wisconsin-River Falls (Dec. 19) and Knox (Dec. 21).

The Skyline schedule resumes with a home matchup against St. Joseph's LI, the team Maritime beat in the quarterfinals of last season's conference tournament.  The Privateers visit Merchant Marine on Jan. 7, then return to Fort Schuyler for meetings with Old Westbury (Jan. 10) and Farmingdale (Jan. 14).  Maritime plays four of its first five and five of its first seven conference games at Riesenberg Gymnasium.

After paying a visit to Mount St. Mary on Jan. 17, the Privateers host Manhattanville on Jan. 20 before traveling to Purchase on Jan. 24.  Maritime returns home to face Mount St. Vincent on Jan. 28, then begins a stretch where it plays five of its last seven on the road at Sarah Lawrence on Jan. 31.  The Privateers' home game against defending Skyline champion Yeshiva on Feb. 4 is followed by back-to-back road contests at St. Joseph's Brooklyn (Feb. 7) and St. Joseph's LI (Feb. 10).  Maritime wraps up its home schedule against Merchant Marine on Feb. 14, with two road matchups against Old Westbury (Feb. 18) and Farmingdale (Feb. 21) concluding the regular season.

This season's Skyline Conference Tournament has a slightly different format.  The top two finishers in each division qualify automatically, while the final four spots in the eight-team field will be based on conference record (regardless of division).  Quarterfinal games are set for Feb. 24, hosted by the top four seeds.  The semifinals are scheduled for Feb. 26, and the Skyline Championship Game will take place on Feb. 28.
