Results: Men | Women
PHILADELPHIA – The Maritime College men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Jack St. Clair Memorial Invitational at Belmont Plateau on Saturday. The women's squad finished seventh overall, while the Privateer men placed eighth in the team standings.
On the women's side, Maritime was paced by
Hannah Smith (Las Vegas, NV) and
Mary Cirelli (Oreland, PA). Smith completed the 6000-meter course in 32:24.8, which was good for 32
nd place, while Cirelli was 33
rd in 32:25.2.
Eily Kochon (Ulster Park, NY) finished 36
th in 34:37.4.
Natalie Boeri (Smithtown, NY) ended up 41
st with a time of 39:40.6, and
Tori Gay (Whiteford, MD) crossed the line 46
th with a 43:32.5 clocking.
Maritime recorded a team score of 188 points in the women's race. The Privateers were seventh overall and fifth among Division III programs. The men's team, meanwhile, collected 195 points, which placed them eighth overall and fifth in the Division III standings.
Pietro Lorino (West Nyack, NY) led the men's squad for the second straight week. He took 29
th place after running 8000 meters in 33:59.3.
C.J. Elwell (Charlestown, RI) came in closely behind. He placed 30
th in 34:34.6.
Benjamin Spellman (Hampton Bays, NY) finished 39
th in 37:27.0, while
Erik Cappuccio (Floral Park, NY) (44
th, 38:28.7) and
Domenick Ribaudo (Medford, NY) (53
rd, 44:23.8) rounded out the Maritime's top five.
This was the Privateers' final meet before the Skyline Conference Championships, which will be held at Bethpage State Park on Nov. 3. Maritime's women are the defending Skyline champions.
