Maritime Football Lands 8 on ECFC All-Academic Team, 28 More on Honor Roll

The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its academic awards for 2020  on Friday afternoon. Eight students-athletes picked up All-Academic Team honors for Maritime College, and for the second year in a row the conference included an  honor roll list, which included 28 additional honorees from the Privateers, seven more than the previous year.

Earning All-Academic Team honors was Joseph Gagliardi (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North)Warren Kim (El Paso, Texas/Americas), Noah Charvat (East Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist), Eric Borchert (Marlboro, NY/), Christian Schiavone (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains)Liam McManus (Carmel, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic)Frank Vano (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon), and James Varga (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Hasbrouck Heights). To be eligible for the ECFC All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3 or higher following the 2019 fall semester. Additionally, all honorees must be at least a sophomore in standing with a minimum two years of participation on the football team.

The Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes that achieved a 3.0 cumulative or fall semester-based G.P.A. or higher. Further, freshman and first-year transfer student-athletes are eligible for the recognition. Frank Tofano (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa), Chris Adami (Merrick, NY/Calhoun), Cristiano Ciatto (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield), Elijah Moore (Brooklyn, N.Y./Boys and Girls), Jack Lupardo (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley), Nick Ford (Greenlawn, NY/John Glenn), Brody Csikos (Littleton, Colo./Heritage), Manuel Costales (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster), Mike Cassidy (Sayville, NY/Sayville), Colton Conelley (El Paso, Texas/Americas), Patrick Harinski (Massapequa, N.Y./Kellenberg), Joseph Behr (Sayreville, N.J./St. Joseph), Christian Judge (Springfield Gardens, N.Y./Springfield Gardens), Justin Jimenez (Brewster, NY/Brewster), Matthew Cebulski (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park), John German (Shoreham, NY/Shoreham - Wading River), Justin Kiste (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan E. Wagner), Caden Bennett (Newark Valley, NY/Newark Valley), Paul Tchinnis (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon), Salvatore Escaldi (Farmingville, N.Y./St. John the Baptist), Sean Hart (Brooklyn, NY/Fort Hamilton), Nicholas Morman (Covington, La./Northlake Christian), Tim Gasparik (Seaford, NY/St. John the Baptist), Josh Walker (Lake Grove, NY/Sachem North), Nick Azzolini, Wayne Betencourt (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman), and Assante Williams-James (Brooklyn, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) earned the honor for Maritime.
