The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its academic awards for 2020 on Friday afternoon. Eight students-athletes picked up All-Academic Team honors for Maritime College, and for the second year in a row the conference included an honor roll list, which included 28 additional honorees from the Privateers, seven more than the previous year.
Earning All-Academic Team honors was
Joseph Gagliardi (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North),
Warren Kim (El Paso, Texas/Americas),
Noah Charvat (East Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist),
Eric Borchert (Marlboro, NY/),
Christian Schiavone (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains),
Liam McManus (Carmel, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic),
Frank Vano (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon), and
James Varga (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Hasbrouck Heights). To be eligible for the ECFC All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3 or higher following the 2019 fall semester. Additionally, all honorees must be at least a sophomore in standing with a minimum two years of participation on the football team.
The Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes that achieved a 3.0 cumulative or fall semester-based G.P.A. or higher. Further, freshman and first-year transfer student-athletes are eligible for the recognition.
