Vinny Fundaro Earns Second Team All-ECAC Nod

THROGGS NECK, NY – For the second consecutive season, senior defensive lineman Vinny Fundaro (Levittown, NY) of the Maritime College football team has been honored by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) with a Second Team All-ECAC selection.  Fundaro becomes the first Privateer to earn ECAC recognition in back-to-back years since Liam Bailey in 2018-19.

A two-time First Team All-NEWMAC (New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference) selection, Fundaro finished second in the league with 13.5 tackles for loss, costing opponents 58 yards of field position.  He was second in the NEWMAC with 6.5 sacks and led Maritime with five quarterback hurries.  Fundaro also forced a fumble in the Privateers' victory at Merchant Marine.

He wrapped up his Maritime career with 36 tackles for loss, which ranks fourth on the program's all-time list.  Fundaro's 15 career sacks are third-most in program history.  He's also fourth all-time with six forced fumbles.

Founded in 1938, the ECAC includes more than 200 member schools across all three divisions.  The ECAC annually chooses an All-ECAC First and Second Team at the Division III, FBS and FCS levels.  In order to be eligible for ECAC honors, players need to be a first team all-conference selection or major award winner in their primary league.
