THROGGS NECK, NY – For the second straight season, the Maritime College football team will host a bowl game.  The Privateers (5-5) were selected to play in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) James Lynah Bowl and will welcome Hobart (5-5) to Reinhart Field on Saturday.

Last year, Maritime earned a 21-14 victory over Husson in the inaugural Fusion Bowl for its first-ever postseason win.  This is the Privateers' first time playing in an ECAC bowl game since 2018, when they lost to Springfield in the New England Bowl.  Overall, Maritime will be making its fourth ECAC bowl appearance (2016-18).

Hobart finished fourth in the Liberty League this season with a 4-3 conference record.  The Statesmen qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year, receiving a first-round bye before falling to Susquehanna in the second round.  Hobart has played in either the NCAA Tournament or an ECAC bowl game every season since 2019 (not including the cancelled 2020 campaign).

The ECAC was founded in 1938 and includes more than 200 member schools across all three divisions.  There are at least three ECAC bowl games each season between teams that weren't selected for the NCAA Tournament.  This season, there will be four ECAC bowls.
