Zion Williams (Indianapolis, IN) has been named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. Williams, who was previously recognized on Dec. 22, extended his streak to six straight 20-point games by notching 28.0 points per contest in the two outings.
He had a career-high 29 points against Yeshiva on Wednesday night. Williams added eight rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in the game. He then recorded his third double-double of the season in the victory at St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Saturday. Williams finished with 27 points and equaled his career-best with 13 boards while also handing out four assists in the 90-73 win. Across the two games, he averaged 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
For the season, Williams ranks third in the Skyline Conference in scoring (18.2 ppg) and fourth in assists (4.4 apg). During his string of six consecutive 20-point outings, he's averaging 25.5 points per contest. Williams has also pulled down 9.8 rebounds per game and notched two double-doubles in that span.
The Privateers (11-10, 7-5 Skyline) have four regular season games remaining, three of which are on the road. Maritime, which currently sits second in the Black Division and fourth overall in the conference, visits St. Joseph's LI (10-11, 6-6 Skyline) at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles won the first meeting of the season between the teams, 76-68 at Riesenberg Gymnasium on Jan. 3.
