THROGGS NECK, NY – Among his many accolades last season,
Jake Devaney (Washingtonville, NY) was the first Maritime College men's basketball player ever chosen as Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Year. This season, he was recognized by the ECAC again with a selection to the All-ECAC Second Team. He's the first Privateer to earn an All-ECAC selection since Ryan Donovan was also named to the Second Team in 2022-23.
This is the second All-Region award Devaney has received for his play during the 2025-26 campaign. The First Team All-Skyline selection was named Second Team All-Region by D3hoops.com for the second straight year earlier this week.
In 2025-26, Devaney averaged 18.1 points per game, which ranked fourth in the Skyline. He was also third in the league with 40 blocks and led the Privateers with 7.5 rebounds a night. Devaney added 43 assists and placed second on the team with 48 steals. He scored 20 or more points 11 different times and recorded four double-doubles, including two in back-to-back games against Manhattanville (Jan. 20) and Purchase (Jan. 24).
The ECAC is an 85-year-old organization with well over 200 members across all three NCAA divisions. In order to be eligible for All-ECAC recognition, players must be a first team all-conference selection or conference major award winner.
