ANNAPOLIS, MD – On Nov. 1-2, the Maritime College offshore sailing team competed for the National Championship at the Kennedy Cup, which was hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy. The Privateers ended up 10
th overall with 47 points in the six-race series.
Maritime was disqualified in the first race, but bounced back with fourth-place finishes in both Race 2 and Race 3. After placing ninth in Race 4, the Privateers took eighth in Race 5. Maritime sat in seventh place with 36 points after Day One. On Sunday, the wind conditions allowed for only one race. The Privateers dropped to 10
th place overall after being disqualified from that final race.
Isabelle Gautier (Pascagoula, MS) skipped Maritime's eight-member crew throughout the weekend. She was joined in the Navy 44 by

The Privateers' Fall season is now complete. Maritime resumes its schedule in early March with team racing events.
