THROGGS NECK, NY – Senior
Kiera Ford (Montgomery, NY) of the Maritime College women's soccer team has been selected to the All-Skyline Conference First Team by the league's 12 head coaches. This is her second career All-Skyline nod, and the first time she has been named to the First Team. Ford was a Second Team All-Skyline choice in 2021.
With 14 goals this season, she finished tied for the conference lead. Ford's 33 points ranked second in the league, and her 1.94 points per game were a Skyline-best. She was also among the league leaders with three game-winning tallies.
Ford matched her career-high with four goals in a win over Yeshiva on Sept. 3, earning Skyline Offensive Player of the Week honors for that effort. She then contributed to four of the Privateers' six goals in a victory at St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Oct. 26, scoring twice and assisting on two others. Ford also had two goals in Maritime's home wins against York (Oct. 1) and Medgar Evers (Oct. 15).
Her 82 career points are the second-most in program history. Ford is also tied for second on the Privateers' all-time goals list with 34.
She becomes Maritime's first All-Skyline selection since
Kathryn Sandford earned Second Team honors in 2022. The Privateers' last First Team All-Skyline performer was
Sara Wright in 2019.
Maritime finished with a 7-9-1 record this season, including a 2-8-1 mark in conference play. The seven victories were the program's most since a 10-win campaign in 2013.
