THROGGS NECK, NY – Five members of the Maritime College women's lacrosse team have been named All-Skyline Conference by the league's nine head coaches.  Midfielders Nicole Johnson (Farmingville, NY) and Jenna Lesiewicz (Wading River, NY), and defender Kiera Ford (Montgomery, NY) earned First Team All-Skyline honors, while attackers Avery Jillson Neuwirth (Croton-On-Hudson, NY) and Gabrielle Nicolosi (West Islip, NY) were Second Team All-Skyline selections. In addition, Head Coach Kerri Handras was honored as the Skyline Coach of the Year.

Johnson led the league with 56 goals and 74 points.  She also paced the Privateers with 84 draw controls, third-most in the conference, and collected a team-best 49 ground balls to go along with 27 caused turnovers.  Lesiewicz won four Skyline Player of the Week honors this season (two Offensive, two Defensive) and finished the campaign among the Skyline leaders in caused turnovers (second, 30), assists (third, 30), draw controls (fourth, 77) and ground balls (fifth, 48) despite missing three games.  Ford started all 17 contests, tallying 47 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers while also contributing four goals.

Jillson Neuwirth distributed a conference-best 39 assists, an average of 2.29 per game, and ranked second on the team with 65 points.  Nicolosi, meanwhile, missed four games due to injury and still scored 43 goals.  Her 3.31 goals per game were second-most in the league.  She was also second in the Skyline in points per game (4.92).

This marks the third consecutive season in which Jillson Neuwirth has earned All-Skyline honors.  She was named to the Second Team for the second straight time after earning a place on the First Team in 2021.  Last season's Skyline Rookie of the Year, Nicolosi was also a First Team All-Skyline choice in 2022.  Johnson and Lesiewicz were both selected First Team All-Skyline for the first time after previously receiving Second Team accolades (Johnson in 2021, Lesiewicz in 2022).  Ford achieved All-Skyline recognition for the first time.

Handras led the Privateers to a number of program firsts this season, including their first Skyline regular season title and first appearance in the Skyline Championship Game.  Maritime went 13-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play en route to earning the No. 1 seed in the Skyline Tournament.  This is the first Skyline Coach of the Year nod for Handras, who just completed her third season at the helm.
