THROGGS NECK, NY – The awards keep coming in for Ryan Donovan (North Salem, NY) of the Maritime College men's basketball team.  A First Team All-Skyline Conference and Second Team All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) selection, Donovan has been named Third Team All-Metropolitan by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA). Donovan is the first Privateer to earn All-Met honors since Patrick MacDonald received the second of back-to-back First Team nods in 2017-18.

A two-time Skyline Player of the Week, Donovan averaged 17.2 points per game this season to lead Maritime and rank third in the league.  He also paced the squad with 45 three-pointers and finished second on the team in both rebounding (5.3 rpg) and assists (2.0 apg).  In addition, Donovan was sixth in the Skyline Conference with a .422 field goal percentage.

He started all 27 games for the Privateers and scored in double figures 24 times.  Donovan had eight 20-point games, including a career-high 32-point effort in the season-opening win over Medgar Evers on Nov. 8.  He scored his 1,000^th point at Mount St. Mary on Feb. 14 and wrapped up his career with 1,042 total points.

Maritime posted its first winning record since 2009-10 this season, going 16-11 overall and 11-5 in conference play.  The Privateers were undefeated at home against Skyline opponents and reached the semifinals of the conference tournament.

This marks the 90^th consecutive year in which the MBWA has honored the best players in the New York Metropolitan area by naming an All-Met team, making it the longest-running media-managed college basketball awards program in the country.  The MBWA chooses All-Met teams for both men and women in all three NCAA divisions.  A total of 35 Division III programs are eligible for All-Met awards.
