2022-23 Schedule
THROGGS NECK, NY – The 2022-23 Maritime College men's basketball schedule has been released. The 25-game slate features 13 contests at Riesenberg Gymnasium, including five of Maritime's first seven outings. The Privateers will also visit Columbia for an exhibition game on Sunday, Nov. 20.
Maritime opens the season with four games in seven days. The Privateers start their 2022-23 campaign by hosting Medgar Evers on Nov. 8, then York visits Riesenberg Gymnasium two days later. After playing its first road game of the season at Mitchell on Nov. 12, Maritime returns home for a matchup with CCNY on Nov. 14.
On Nov. 20, the Privateers play an exhibition contest at Columbia. It will be Maritime's first game against a Division I opponent since the 2018-19 season, when the team visited Army West Point. Two days later, the Privateers welcome NYU to Fort Schuyler before ending November with a home contest against Baruch (Nov. 27) and a matchup at John Jay (Nov. 29).
Skyline Conference play begins on Dec. 3, when Maritime visits Purchase. The Privateers will once again contest a 16-game conference schedule, facing each of the five teams in their division twice (both home and away) and the other six schools once (three at home, three on the road).
After wrapping up the December portion of the Skyline schedule by visiting Manhattanville (Dec. 7) and hosting Merchant Marine (Dec. 10), Maritime will participate in the Western Connecticut Tournament on Dec. 29-30. The Privateers take on Coast Guard in their first game before facing either Western Connecticut or CCNY on day two.
Five of Maritime's eight games in January are at home, including three straight to begin the New Year. The Privateers open the stretch against Mount St. Mary on Jan. 7, then face Sarah Lawrence (Jan. 11) and St. Joseph's Brooklyn (Jan. 14) before visiting Farmingdale on Jan. 17. After welcoming Old Westbury to Riesenberg Gymnasium on Jan. 21, Maritime hits the road for matchups with Yeshiva (Jan. 25) and St. Joseph's LI (Jan. 28). The Privateers conclude the month with a home contest against Mount St. Vincent on Jan. 31.
In February, Maritime plays the second game against each of its five division rivals. The Privateers host Manhattanville on Feb. 4 and travel to Merchant Marine on Feb. 8 before concluding their home schedule against Purchase on Feb. 11. Maritime's final two games of the season are both on the road, against Mount St. Mary on Feb. 14 and Sarah Lawrence on Feb. 18.
This season's Skyline Conference Tournament begins with quarterfinal games on Feb. 21, followed by the semifinals on Feb. 23 and the championship game on Feb. 25. All conference tournament contests are on the home court of the higher seed.
