The Maritime College women's lacrosse team released its schedule on Wednesday morning, which features a seven-game Skyline Conference slate. After reaching the conference playoffs for the first time in 2019, the Privateers got off to a hot start in 2020 with a 4-1 record before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. Maritime will look to continue to build on its recent success and return to the playoffs with a full conference schedule ahead of them this spring.
The Privateers will begin the season with back-to-back home games against Mount St. Vincent and Mount St. Mary on March 12 and 19, respectively. They will finish out the season with four out of five games on the road against Manhattanville, USMMA, Farmingdale St., and Purchase, with their last regular season home game against St. Joseph's Long Island on April 9.
"We're really excited to get back out on the field and compete in the Skyline Conference again after last season was cut short," said head coach
Alyssa Guido. "It was disappointing to not get the opportunity to return to the playoffs, but the team is definitely eager to prove that we belong in the playoffs competing for the championship. It will be a challenge to jump right into conference play without a non-conference schedule beforehand, but it's a challenge we are ready and excited for."
