The Skyline Conference announced on Monday morning that Maritime College men's soccer senior forward
Justin Forrest (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) made Second-Team All-Conference. Forrest has commanded the Privateers back-line all season long, while helping the team win the Skyline Conference Championship, and send the program back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2011. This is Forrest's third time being named to a Skyline All-Conference team as he made the First-Team in both 2017 and 2018.
Forrest has racked up in his final season for the Privateers two goals, and three assists, and sits at 31 points for his career. He has been a steady presence for head coach
Daniel Gwyther's formation, as he is up to over 6500 minutes played in a Maritime jersey. As of November 11, 2019, the defensive captain is currently tied for 3rd all time (in Maritime Athletics' recent history) in games played (77), as well as in sole possession of 3rd all time in the recent history for games started (73) for the Privateers.
Known for stepping up during big moments, Forrest buried the game winning goal against Yeshiva University on October 25, and in the opening round of the Skyline playoffs against rival Merchant Marine on November 2, he assisted on
Doga Sisman's () goal, and on
Frank Schmidt's (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) overtime game-winner.
Forrest and the Privateers' season will continue this Saturday, November 16, as they travel to Medford, Mass. to face the reigning Division III national champions, Tufts University, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
