PATCHOGUE, NY – On Wednesday, the Maritime College men's soccer team concluded its 2026 season by visiting defending Skyline Conference champion St. Joseph's LI.
Nicolas Silva (Middle Village, NY) got the Privateers (4-8-4, 3-4-4 Skyline) on the board first in the 51
st minute, but the Golden Eagles (7-5-2, 7-3-1 Skyline) responded with three unanswered tallies to notch a 3-1 victory at Danzi Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, Silva took a feed from
Victor Beltrami (Mahopac, NY) and put it into the back of the net for a 1-0 Maritime lead. Jack Pulisic tied it two minutes later, however. Liam McDermott then put St. Joseph's LI in front with his 76
th-minute tally. Patrick Keniksman added a late goal to finish off the scoring in the Golden Eagles' 3-1 win.
Silva scored for the first time since Sept. 24, 2025—in the Privateers' last meeting with St. Joseph's LI. Beltrami's assist, meanwhile, was his first collegiate point.
Aidan Slovensky (Manorville, NY) (4-8-4) was credited with nine saves for Maritime.
Pulisic is tied for second in the league with 12 goals this season. McDermott scored for the third time, while Keniksman notched his first tally of the year. St. Joseph's LI goalkeeper Dean Burchard (7-4-2) had four saves in the winning effort.
The Privateers ended up seventh in the Skyline standings with 13 points, just missing out on the six-team Skyline Tournament field. Maritime recorded three conference wins for the third straight time and tallied 13 points for the second time in three years.
