Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Privateers Knocked Off By Mount St. Vincent

RIVERDALE, NY – The Maritime College men's soccer team made the short trip to Mount St. Vincent for a Skyline Conference matchup on Saturday.  The first-place Dolphins (10-4-2, 9-1-1 Skyline) clinched the No. 1 seed in the Skyline Tournament with a 6-1 victory over the Privateers (4-7-4, 3-3-4 Skyline) at the Athletic Field at Marillac.

Mount St. Vincent opened the scoring in the 12th minute, then the Dolphins' Justin Sorto made it 2-0 just 90 seconds later.  Marti Senyer added another tally in the 25th minute, giving Mount St. Vincent a 3-0 halftime lead.  Maritime trimmed that margin to 3-1 in the 47th minute, when Georgios Tsatalios (Athens, Greece) put away a feed from Jeferson Blanco (San Pedro Sula, Honduras).  However, the Dolphins found the back of the net three times in the second half to pull away for a 6-1 triumph.

Tsatalios netted his fifth goal of the year and third in the Privateers' last four games.  Blanco, meanwhile, was credited with his first assist this season, increasing his team-leading point total to 21.  Goalkeeper Aidan Slovensky (Manorville, NY) (4-7-4) faced 18 Mount St. Vincent shots and made five saves.

Sorto and Senyer both scored twice for the Dolphins.  Daniel Figueroa added a goal and an assist.  Miguel Fierro (7-3-1) started in net and earned the win.  He recorded a pair of saves in 85 minutes of action.  Joey Wiant was credited with one save after entering in the 85th minute.

With the loss, Maritime was eliminated from contention for the Skyline Tournament.  The Privateers will conclude the 2026 season by visiting St. Joseph's LI (6-5-2, 6-3-1 Skyline) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.  Maritime Head Coach Robert Gomez led the Golden Eagles to the Skyline title last season.
