Men's Soccer Earns Second Straight ECAC Bid; Will Open Play Against Rutgers-Newark

On Tuesday, Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced the 16 teams that will compete for the ECAC Division III Men's Soccer Championship. For the second consecutive season, the Privateers were one of those teams selected and will begin tournament action this Saturday, November 10th  against the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Knights at 11:00 a.m. on the campus of Rutgers-Newark. The fourth seeded Privateers were selected to be part of pod 3 and will face off against the top seeded Scarlet Knights.

The Privateers conclude a season in which they finished with an overall record of 14-5-1. The Privateers program best 14 win season was highlighted by a 9-1-1 record at Reinhart Field as well as a 7-2-1 record in Skyline Conference play which was good enough for second place. Under Daniel Gwyther, the Privateers have a total of 62 goals on the 2018 season which is four away from their single season record of 66 from 2007.

The Privateers will compete in a four-team pod that also includes Medaille College and Manhattanville College. The winners of both matches will face off on Sunday, November 11th for a trip to the ECAC semifinals.
