Final Results OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Maritime Men's and Women's Swimming teams picked up their second Skyline Conference wins of the season, sweeping past the Old Westbury Panthers on Thursday evening at the Clark Athletic Center.
The women's team knocked off the Panthers by a 104-81 score, while the men's team controlled the leaderboard with a 178-23 victory. The men's squad went a perfect 11-for-11, taking the top spot in every race throughout the night.
The women had a successful evening, picking up their second straight conference win to begin the league schedule. After a disqualification in the 200 Medley Relay, junior Ashley O'Brien (Queens, N.Y./Mary Louis Academy) spearheaded the effort to dig out of the early deficit, winning by nearly two minutes in the 1,000 Freestyle (14:08.94). Freshman Ekaterina Aaron (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) scored a win (2:16.37) by 20 seconds over classmate Katherine Teige. Sophomore Jessica Yee (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) came in with a 3:01.62. Junior Danielle Leahy (Cocoa Beach, Fla./Cocoa Beach) scored a second place finish (28:25) in the 50 Freestyle, with sophomores Alexandra Schnabel (Lindenhurst, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and Gabrielle Kempski (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) also earning points for the Privateers. Freshman Erica Davis (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) followed that up with a second place finish in the 200 Individual Medley (2:56.77). Aaron picked up her second win of the evening in the 100 Butterfly, clocking in with a time of 1:08.58. Sophomore Kayla Nolan (Howard Beach, N.Y./Scholars' Academy) picked up a win (1:20.22) by just under a second over Schnabel and Kempski in the 100 Freestyle. Senior Emma Crandall (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) netted the next points for Maritime as she scored a second place finish in the 100 Backstroke (1:21.63). Teige and Yee followed Crandall, for third and fourth respectively. Aaron made it 3-for-3 with a 6:21.72 in the 500 Freestyle, while O'Brien finished second in the event. Crandall collected a win in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:26.55 to close out individual competition. Maritime's freestyle relay team of O'Brien, Teige, Davis and Leahy scored 11 points for the Privateers (1:58.94), with Schnabel, Kempski, Yee and Nolan coming to the finish in third position with a time of 2:18.98.The Men's team got off to a quick start on the evening with senior

Nathanael Marino (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) scored a second place finish with a 1:48.62. Juniors
Brian Roberts (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) and
Kevin Gilroy (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown North), along with rookies
Jesse Pierce (Broadway, Va./Broadway), and
Kyle Zajaczkowski (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) with a 2:02.33.

Robert Lewis (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) cruised to a win in the 1,000 Freestyle (12:03.00), followed by freshman
Tristan DeYoung (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough), and sophomore
Luke Doherty (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville). Freshman
Preston Truong (Austin, Texas/Round Rock) scored a win in the 200 Freestyle (1:51.07), with sophomore
Andrew Katz (Elwood, N.Y./John Glenn) and freshman
Christopher Chilelli (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) following in second and third.
Wu followed with a win in the 50 Freestyle (21:84), followed by Katz and senior
Peter Skerys (Sag Harbor, N.Y./Pierson). Senior
Brendan Erskine (Maspeth, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) scored a top time in the 200 Individual Medley at 2:15.25, followed by Cannon and freshman
Shane Hoey (Bell Harbor, N.Y./St. Francis Prep).
Truong added his second win of the night in the 100 Butterfly, touching the wall with a time of 55:68, edging out Lewis by less than three seconds. Junior
Charles Schnebel (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) recorded a third place time of 1:01.06. In the next event, Russell picked up a victory in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 52:99, sophomore
Brian Brow (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial), and Accetta recorded top-three times as well.
As the evening progressed, freshman
Lillo Rubino (Islip Terrace, N.Y./Central Islip) won in the 100 Backstroke (1:01.69), followed by Cannon and Katz. Lewis registered his second win of the night (5:30.66) with a 31-second win over Doherty in the 500 Freestyle, the pair were followed by Brow in third position.
Marino (1:04.21), Erskine and Lyon swept the top three spot in the 100 Breaststroke to close out individual competition for the night. Truong, Russell, Marino and Wu capped off the evening with a five-second win (1:35.41) over Dean, Hoey, Gilroy and Roberts. Rubino, Pierce, Zajaczkowski, and junior
Charles Gallagher (Port Ewen, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) came in third in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The Maritime Men's (3-0, 2-0 Skyline) and Women's (2-1, 2-0 Skyline) will return to action on Monday evening, when the team returns to the Riesenberg Aquatic Center for a Skyline matchup against Purchase beginning at 6 p.m.
