PURCHASE, NY –
Maritime College's Jessica Magee (Smithtown, NY) won the women's 1-meter diving competition on Day 1 of the Skyline Conference Swimming & Diving Championships from the Purchase College Athletic Center on Saturday.  She was the first Privateer to win a Skyline individual title since 2016 and became Maritime's first-ever conference diving champion.

Magee posted a score of 336.05 points, which was nearly 100 points clear of the second-place finisher.  With that total, she also achieved the qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships.  In addition, Magee earned the first Skyline championship for any Privateer woman since Katia Aaron won the 100 yard butterfly in 2016.

Behind 16 points from Magee, the Maritime women had a team score of 19 points after Day 1.  Oceana Elefante (Sayville, NY) contributed the other three points with a 10th-place showing in the 50 yard freestyle.  Her time was 28.46 seconds.

The Privateer men, meanwhile, were sitting in fourth place as a team with 97 points.  Maritime's best finish was in the 200 yard medley relay, where the quartet of Parker Endress (Hamburg, NY), Alex Anastasiades (Rockaway Beach, NY), Matt Klimek (Malverne, NY) and Victor Pineda (Bronx, NY) took third in 1:58.25.  Pineda and Anastasiades also joined with Aidan Hope (Milford, CT) and Ryan Colombo (Cortland Manor, NY) to take fourth in the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:47.96.

Individually, Endress placed sixth in the 400 yard individual medley (5:12.76) and seventh in the 200 yard individual medley (2:27.30).  Klimek was sixth in the 500 yard freestyle (5:40.62), while Pineda grabbed sixth place in the 100 yard backstroke with a 1:09.79 clocking.  Hope added a seventh-place showing in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:36.54).

Competition concludes on Sunday with the final seven events.  Diving gets underway at 10 a.m., followed by the swimming session at 12 p.m.
