        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Sept. 13, 2013) - The Maritime men's soccer team defeated visiting King's College, 4-0, Friday night to cap off a doubleheader sweep by the Privateers of the Lions. Maritime moves to 2-4 on the season, while King's falls to 0-4.
 
        The Privateers wasted little time to get on the board, as freshman Michael Wood (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield) (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield) buried a shot from the top of the box in the very first minute of the game.
 
        Classmate Renato Chira-Farfan (Miraflores, Peru/Mahopac (N.Y.)) (Miraflores, Peru/Mahopac) scored the next two goals for Maritime, the first at the left post when he tapped in a ball that was crossed in from the right side by Taylor McFadzen (Northport, N.Y./Northport) (Northport, N.Y./Northport). The second was on a corner kick from the right side that he took that bended and bounced in off the left post.
 
        The fourth goal came from the head of sophomore Shieck Wattara (Bronx, N.Y./Urban Assembly for Math & Science), who directed a cross by freshman Kieran Donnelly (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) into the left side of the net.
 
        Maritime dominated the action on the evening, outshooting King's 35-1, including nine shots on goal to the Lions' none. All three Privateer keepers saw action tonight, as sophomore Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y./Northport) () started and played the first half before being replaced by freshman Phil Marks (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), who played the next 24:27 minutes. Junior Patrick Kelleher (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) held the shutout in tact by manning the goal for the last 20:33.
 
        The Privateers are right back at it tomorrow, when they travel to Keystone College to take on the Giants. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., after the women's team faces Keystone at 2 p.m.
