The Maritime football team enters Saturday's contest with an even 3-3 record under eighth-year head coach
Clayton Kendrick-Holmes, including a 2-1 mark in ECFC action. The Privateers are riding a two-game winning streak with victories over Becker College, 33-7, at home on Oct. 6 and Anna Maria, 42-21, on the road just this past Saturday. Maritime opened the season with a 20-14 home win over rival Mass. Maritime on Sept. 7, but lost the next three games – a 19-14 loss on the road to Kings Point on Sept. 15, a 35-16 defeat up at Castleton St. on Sept. 22 and a 21-14 loss defeat to William Paterson on Sept. 29.
The team's rushing leader is junior quarterback

Duke Alvora (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) rank second and third on the team with 49 and 42 tackles, respectively. Both players also have forced one fumble, apiece. Lasher leads the squad with eight tackles for losses of a combined 21 yards.
The punting duties have landed on Alvora this season, who has had some great punts thus far. He has amassed 854 yards on 21 punts for an average of 40.7 yards per punt. His longest of the year came in Week Two against Kings Point on a 76-yard punt that went back for a touchback. He has four punts of 50 or more yards, has landed seven inside the opponents' 20-yard line and had two touchbacks. The kickoffs/field goals have been taken by freshman

A Closer Look At The National Rankings
Both teams rank in the Top 25 in NCAA DIII Football in three categories. The Privateers rank third in the nation in tackles for losses allowed with 2.83 per game, seventh in sacks allowed per game (0.50 per game) and 24th in net punting with 35.71 net yard average per punt. The Mustangs are fourth in the nation in passing efficiency with a 183.29 rating over six games, 12th in net punting with 36.55 net yard average per punt and 21st in time of possession with 33:18.
Individually for Maritime,
Keith Barnes (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) ranks third among all DIII players with 13.17 per game and his 7.83 solo tackles per game is good for fourth. For Mount Ida, senior QB Scott Drosendahl ranks fifth in the nation with a 183.33 rating and is also sixth 24.00 points responsible for per game. Junior wideout Jordan Hyman is 14th in DIII with a total of 629 receiving yards thus far.
Inside The Series With Mount Ida
Maritime and Mount Ida have met six times in the past six years and the series is split, 3-3. The Mustangs won the first three meetings (2006-08) and the Privateers have come out on top the last three (2009-2011).

The Privateers defeated Mount Ida, 31-29, at home in Week Eight during the 2011 season. Senior

For the Mustangs, senior Johrone Bunch was limited to just 75 yards and one score and it all came in the first half, as he left the game early with an apparent injury. Then-freshman Chris McNally recorded a team-high 89 rushing yards, while Drosendahl was 15-for-26 in passing for 160 yards and two pass touchdowns. Then-junior Matt Valentini was the leading receiver with seven catches for 58 yards and one TD. Defensively, freshmen Jah-son Johnson and Tevin Moye each recorded 11 tackles, as two of Johnson's were for combined losses of five yards and two of Moye's were for losses of four. Moye also had one forced fumble.
Scouting The Mount Ida Mustangs
Mount Ida enters Saturday's game with a 5-1 record under fifth-year head coach Michael Landers, including a perfect 3-0 mark in ECFC action. The Mustangs won their first two games against UMass-Dartmouth, 24-21, at home on Aug. 31 and at Plymouth, 22-12, on Sept. 8. They dropped their Week Three meeting with Springfield on the road, 49-42, on Sept. 15 and have won each game since: vs. Norwich (36-32), vs. Anna Maria (48-35) and at Husson (30-3).
Mount Ida has compiled 2,603 yards of total offense and has scored 17 offensive touchdowns and two field goals, while also bringing back one return for a touchdown. The Mustangs have allowed 2,266 yards of offense and 21 TDs.
Senior QB Scott Drosendahl is 98-for-154 in completions for 1,567 yards and 19 touchdowns. He has also ran in five TDs. His top receiver is junior Jordan Hyman, who has hauled in 33 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. On the ground, sophomore Chris McNally has amassed 596 yards with one touchdown, while freshman Melquan Pinkney has recorded 322 yards and two rushing TDs.
On defense, sophomore Kayln Smithson leads the team with 45 total tackles (29 solo and 16 assisted), including 7.5 for combined losses of 17 yards with one sack and one forced fumble. Freshman Dominque Spaulding and senior Azim Carter are second and third on the squad with 38 and 36 tackles, respectively.
The kicking duties are handled by senior Bobby Hemmann, who is 2-for-5 on field goals and 24-for-26 on PATs. Drosendahl also doubles as the Mustangs' punter and has amassed 833 yards on 22 punts (37.9 ypp) with a season-long of 57 and has landed nine punts inside opponents' 20-yard line.
