At Maritime:

2012: Junior Season – Gary earned the highest level in the off season program being recognized as a Super Iron Privateer lifting 1560 lbs in his 4 max outs.

2011: Sophomore Season – Gary served as back-up to career standout Jamie Spanopoulos playing in all 10 games.  He ended the season with ECFC honorable mention honors as the team’s third leading rusher with 229 yards on 51 carries and 5 TD’s.  He also had one catch for 43 yards and was noted as a team outstanding player in all 7 conference match ups.  At season’s end his teammates recognized him with the WARFACE award.    

2010: Freshman Season- Gary played in 9 games on the season rushing for at total of 71 yards on 15 carries.  He scored his first and only collegiate TD against Anna Maria.  Gary was named Offensive Attack Team Player of the Week for West Conn.   

Academics: Gary transferred into the Regiment of Cadets in the spring of his freshman year and is pursuing a double major in Marine Technology in Small Vessel Operations with a Deck License and also International Transportation and Trade. He has an overall GPA of 3.2 and made Admiral’s List in the Spring Semester of 2011 with the team high Semester GPA of 3.78.  He has also made Dean’s List in the Fall Semester of 2010 and Spring Semester of 2012.  Gary was named to the ECFC Academic All Conference Team for the 2011 season.  

Prior to Maritime:

Gary played football for Coach Corky Rogers where the Bolles School football team won the 2009 Class 2B state title in Orlando’s Citrus Bowl.  Bolles (12-1) not only improved its FHSAA state record of state titles to 10, the Bulldogs also won back-to-back state titles for the first time in program history.  Bolles currently holds sole possession of the most playoff victories in state history with 69. Gary received player of the week and unsung player of the week honors as a player and was also a member of the weightlifting team.

Gary’s parents are Tracy and Gary Bigham. He has one sister, Jada.
