THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Nov. 11, 2011) – The Maritime men's soccer team left Friday morning for Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., in preparation for its First Round matchup in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12, against the #2/3 Saints of St. Lawrence University. Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Suprenant Field on the campus of WNEU.
The winner of the game will move on to the Second Round and face the winner of the Western New England vs. SUNYIT game, which will be played following the Maritime/St. Lawrence game on Saturday. The Second Round contest will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. at Suprenant Field.

Privateers Reach NCAA Tournament For Second-Straight Season
The Maritime men's soccer program is taking part in the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight season by way of the automatic bid received by winning the Skyline Conference Championship last Saturday over St. Joseph's, 2-1. The 2010 squad lost in the First Round on the road to Montclair State, 3-0.
Three Players Named To All-Skyline Teams
On Thursday, the Skyline Conference announced that the coaches from the 10 conference schools have named senior
Jason Tursi (Farmingdale, N.Y./Plainedge) (Farmingdale, N.Y./Plainedge) to the All-Skyline First Team, while classmates
Jack Blunden (Arlington, Va./Washington) (Arlington, Va./Washington) and
Arthur Melody (East Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay) (East Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay) earned spots on the All-Skyline Second Team.
A Look At Saturday's Matchup
This will be the first meeting between Maritime and St. Lawrence. The Privateers have one common opponent with the Saints from the 2011 season, Vassar College. Maritime lost to Vassar, 4-0, on the road back on Sept. 16. St. Lawrence defeated the Brewers, 1-0, in Poughkeepsie on Oct. 1, before tying Vassar at home in the Liberty League Championship game this past Saturday, after which Vassar won a penalty-kick shootout, 3-1, to take the Liberty League title. St. Lawrence is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation by the NSCAA Coaches Poll and No. 3 in the nation in the D3Soccer.com Poll.
