THROGGS NECK, NY – For the third consecutive year, the Maritime College baseball program has received the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.  The Privateers were one of 440 college teams to be recognized.

Overall, nearly 750 high school and college programs met the eligibility criteria of being coached by an ABCA member and holding a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year.  Among Skyline Conference institutions, only Maritime, Merchant Marine and Farmingdale were honored.

The ABCA was established in 1945 and has a long tradition of recognizing baseball coaches and student-athletes for their achievements, both on the field and in the classroom.  There are more than 1,500 ABCA member coaches from all 50 states and 41 countries.  Sports Attack was founded in 1995 in Reno, NV, and is one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality sports training equipment.
