THROGGS NECK, NY – Freshman second baseman Dylan Payano (Flushing, NY) and senior shortstop Randy Ventura (Syosset, NY) of the Maritime College baseball team have both been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).  Payano earned a spot on the All-Region First Team, while Ventura was a Second Team All-Region selection.

The Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, Payano posted a .415 batting average, the second-highest for a single-season in program history.  His 48 runs scored were tied for the league lead, and his 46 RBIs were tied for the fourth-most in the conference.  Payano was also fourth in the Skyline with 56 hits, five of which were home runs.  Meanwhile, on the basepaths, he was successful in 15-of-16 stolen base attempts.

Ventura set a school record by stealing 34 bases in 2026.  He's also the Privateers' all-time leader with 74 carer stolen bases.  Ventura finished just behind Payano with 47 runs scored while hitting .372 and posting 54 hits.  He was the only Maritime player to start all 37 games this season.
