THROGGS NECK, NY – The Maritime College baseball team is one of more than 800 high school and college programs nationwide to earn the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.  This marks the fourth consecutive year in which the Privateers have received the honor.

To be eligible for the award, programs must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2025-26 academic year and a head coach who is a current ABCA member.  Maritime and Merchant Marine were the only two Skyline Conference schools that qualified.

Established in 1945, the ABCA continued its long tradition of recognizing baseball coaches and student-athletes for their success both on the field and in the classroom.  Sports Attack has been one of the top manufacturers of sports training equipment since its founding in 1995 in Reno, NV.
