THROGGS NECK, NY – For the second straight season, a member of the Maritime College baseball team has been recognized by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) with a selection to the All-ECAC Team.  Sophomore Owen Weber (Kings Park, NY) was honored as the All-ECAC second baseman.

Weber led the Privateers with seven home runs this season, which was tied for second-most in the Skyline Conference.  He hit three home runs and recorded seven RBIs in Game 1 of a doubleheader sweep against Manhattanville on April 5, matching the program record in both categories.

One of four Maritime players to start every game, Weber served as the Privateers' primary leadoff hitter and paced the squad with 53 hits.  His .567 slugging percentage was also a team-best, and he finished tied for the team lead with 41 runs scored.  Weber posted a .338 batting average and tallied 11 doubles.

This is the third different All-Region nod he has received this season.  A First Team All-Skyline selection, Weber was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Region Second Team and the D3baseball.com All-Region Third Team.

The ECAC is an 85-year-old organization consisting of more than 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions.  In order to be eligible for the All-ECAC Team, student-athletes must be a first team all-conference selection or major award winner in their primary conference.
