Nicolosi Honored As Skyline Offensive Player of the Year

THROGGS NECK, NY – It's been a history-making season for senior attacker Gabrielle Nicolosi (West Islip, NY) of the Maritime College women's lacrosse team, and she added some more on Monday when she became the first player in program history to be named Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year.  Nicolosi also earned a spot on the All-Skyline First Team along with senior midfielder Morgan Tracy (Cambridge, MD).  Senior defender Gia DiToma (North Syracuse, NY) and senior midfielder Kiera Ford (Montgomery, NY), meanwhile, were selected to the All-Skyline Second Team.

Nicolosi, the 2022 Skyline Rookie of the Year, received her second straight and third career First Team All-Skyline nod.  She was an All-Skyline choice all four years, having been named to the Second Team in 2023.  Nicolosi becomes the Privateers' first-ever four-time all-conference selection.

Her 114 points this season are currently fifth-most in Division III.  Nicolosi is also tied for the NCAA season-high for points in a game with her school-record 15 at Ramapo on March 1.  She earned National Player of the Week honors for that effort.  Nicolosi has tallied double-digit points five times in 2025, and she leads the league in both assists per game (3.93) and points per game (7.60).  Her 59 assists and 114 points this season are program records, and Nicolosi's 54 goals are one off the single-season school mark.

Tracy was named All-Skyline for the second straight year, and earned a place on the First Team for the first time after being selected to the Second Team last season.  She ranks second on the team in both goals (47) and points (61), while her 107 draw controls and 7.13 draw controls per game are the most in the conference.  Tracy has scored at least four goals in a game eight different times and tallied double-digit draw controls on four occasions.

DiToma was honored by the conference for the first time in her career.  A lockdown defender, her primary job is usually to shut down the opponent's top offensive player.  DiToma currently ranks third on the squad with 21 caused turnovers to go along with 21 ground balls.  She has also scored four goals, including a hat trick against Old Westbury on April 23.

Ford receives her second career All-Skyline nod in lacrosse after being a First Team selection in 2023.  She's also a two-time all-conference honoree in soccer and was named First Team All-Skyline in that sport this season, as well.  Ford leads the Privateers with 44 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers.  Her 1.87 caused turnovers per game are fourth-most in the league.

Maritime (9-6, 6-2 Skyline) enters the Skyline Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will host sixth-seeded Manhattanville (5-9, 3-5 Skyline), a team it just beat on Friday, in the first round at 6 p.m. on Monday.  The winner visits defending Skyline champion Farmingdale (8-8, 7-1 Skyline), the No. 2 seed, in Thursday's semifinals.
