THROGGS NECK, NY – After each notching a hat trick in the Maritime College women's soccer team's 9-0 victory at Yeshiva last Tuesday, senior forward Kiera Ford (Montgomery, NY) and freshman forward Eva Garcia (Rockville Centre, NY) have both been recognized by the Skyline Conference.  Ford was named Skyline Offensive Player of the Week, while Garcia earned Skyline Rookie of the Week honors.

Ford had a hand in each of Maritime's final five goals and finished with nine points in the game.  She assisted on a Sara Williams (Oceanside, NY) tally in the 41^st minute, then found the back of the net herself 37 seconds later.  In the second half, Ford scored three times in a seven-minute span.  It was her fourth career hat trick and second four-goal game.

Garcia completed her hat trick in the first 30 minutes.  She opened the scoring in the seventh minute before adding tallies in the 13^th minute and 30^th minute.  Garcia also assisted on Ford's first goal, giving her seven points in the game.

This marks the second time Ford has been named Skyline Offensive Player of the Week.  She previously received the honor on Sept. 6, 2023.  Garcia is the Privateers' first Skyline Rookie of the Week since Ford on Oct. 25, 2021.  They join Devon Etienne (Garden City, NY), last week's Skyline Defensive Player of the Week, as conference weekly award winners this season.

The Privateers (2-0-0, 1-0-0 Skyline) return to action on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Saint Elizabeth (2-0-1) at Reinhart Field.  The contest will follow the Maritime men's game against Pratt, which gets underway at 5 p.m.
