THROGGS NECK, NY – After contributing to all four of the Maritime College women's soccer team's goals over its first two games of the season, freshman forward Emani Abdool (Islandia, NY) has been chosen as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.  She scored three times and added an assist in the contests against Pratt and Brooklyn.

Abdool found the back of the net twice in the season-opening loss to Pratt on Sept. 1.  She sent a blast from 25 yards out in the 61^st minute before adding a 20-yard boot in the 82^nd minute.  On Friday at Brooklyn, Abdool had an assist on Eva Garcia's (Rockville Centre, NY) tally that brought Maritime within 2-1 in the 65^th minute.  She then earned a penalty kick in the 78^th minute, stepped up to the spot, and converted for the tying goal in the 2-2 draw.

The Privateers (0-1-1) return to action on Wednesday, when they make the short trip to Lehman (0-0-0) for a 5 p.m. matchup.  The contest will be broadcast live on FloCollege.
