RYE, NY – The Maritime College offshore sailing team competed in its final event of the Spring season from May 3-5.  The Privateers finished ninth overall in the ORC Division at the American Yacht Club Fall Regatta.

Maritime's crew aboard Oakcliff Far 40 Blue was Brendan Boyle (Larchmont, NY), Ethan Narofsky (East Chatham, NY), Kevin Kokiadis (Levittown, NY), Arseny Tarasov (Brooklyn, NY) and Robert Wieczorek III (Greenport, NY).  Their best result was a seventh-place effort in the fourth of seven races.  Overall, the Privateers compiled a team score of 49 points.

While this marked the last competition for the offshore sailors this Spring, there is one event remaining on the dinghy schedule.  Maritime has qualified for the National Championships and will contest the Open Dinghy Semifinal on May 24-25 in Boston.
