2023 Schedule

THROGGS NECK, NY – The Maritime College volleyball team will play 22 matches in John O'Donoghue's first season as head coach.  Seven of those contests will be at Riesenberg Gymnasium, starting with the season opener against York on Sept. 6.

Maritime takes the court seven times in 11 days to begin the 2023 campaign.  After the York match, the Privateers visit John Jay (Sept. 8) before beginning Skyline Conference play with a Sept. 10 contest at Yeshiva.  Maritime travels to Lehman on Sept. 12, then returns home for a matchup with CCNY on Sept. 14.  On Sept. 16, the Privateers head to Vassar for the first of two tri-matches on the schedule.  Maritime will take on William Paterson, as well as the host Brewers.

After resuming conference play at St. Joseph's LI on Sept. 20, the Privateers conclude the road trip at FDU-Florham on Sept. 22.  Maritime welcomes St. Joseph's Brooklyn to Riesenberg Gymasium on Sept. 25 before heading back on the road for showdowns with Sarah Lawrence (Sept. 28) and Baruch (Oct. 2).

On Oct. 4, the Privateers begin a stretch where they play four out of six at home by taking on Old Westbury.  Maritime travels to York for its second meeting of the season with the Cardinals on Oct. 5, then has back-to-back conference home dates with Merchant Marine (Oct. 10) and Purchase (Oct. 12).  After visiting Mount St. Mary on Oct. 17, the Privateers wrap up their home schedule against Farmingdale on Oct. 19.

Two days later, Maritime makes the trip to Centenary for its final two non-conference matches of the season.  In addition to the host Cyclones, the Privateers will take on Medgar Evers.  Maritime ends the campaign on the road against Skyline rivals Mount St. Vincent (Oct. 24) and Manhattanville (Oct. 26).

This season's Skyline Tournament is one week later than previous years.  The first round set for Nov. 7, followed by the semifinals on Nov. 9 and championship match on Nov. 11.  Should Maritime finish in the top six of the final regular season standings, the Privateers will qualify for their first Skyline Tournament since 2017.
