THROGGS NECK, NY – The results of the 2022-23 Skyline Conference Preseason Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Coaches Poll have been announced.  The Maritime College men were tabbed to finish second in the conference this season, while the women's team placed third in the poll.

Maritime received two first-place votes on the men's side and finished with 14 points, just one behind preseason favorite Merchant Marine.  Mount St. Mary was third with 10 points, followed by Purchase (6) and Sarah Lawrence (5).

On the women's side, the Privateers earned one first-place vote and 16 points.  Maritime was third in the preseason rankings behind Merchant Marine (24) and Sarah Lawrence (18).  St. Joseph's LI, which only has a women's program, tallied 15 points, with Mount St. Mary (12) and Purchase (5) rounding out the preseason selections.

Last year, Maritime's men took second at the Skyline Conference Championships for the fifth consecutive time, while the women finished fourth, their best-ever showing.  Jim Downey takes over as the program's head coach this season.
