2022 Schedule

THROGGS NECK, NY – The 2022 Maritime College women's lacrosse schedule has been announced.  The Privateers will play 14 games, including eight at Reinhart Field, starting with a matchup against Wilkes on Feb. 26.

That season-opening contest will be part of a doubleheader with the men's program, which takes on Oneonta immediately following the women's game.  In total, there are three men's/women's doubleheaders on the schedule, with the others set for March 9 and April 30.

After the season opener, the Privateers will take part in the Maritime Cup, an annual event that returns after not being held in 2021 due to the pandemic.  Maritime will take on host Massachusetts Maritime on March 4, then face Maine Maritime the following day.

On March 9, Maritime begins conference play by welcoming Mount St. Vincent to Reinhart Field.  The Privateers will wrap up their three-game homestand with matchups against DeSales (March 19) and Ramapo (March 25) before visiting Mitchell on March 29 to conclude non-conference play.

Maritime's final seven contests are Skyline Conference affairs, starting with a home game against St. Joseph's (LI) on April 1.  The Privateers then visit Mount St. Mary (April 5) and host Manhattanville (April 9) before traveling to face defending conference champion Farmingdale State on April 13.

Two days later, Maritime takes on Purchase at Reinhart Field.  The Privateers' final road game is scheduled for April 23 at Merchant Marine, and Maritime hosts Old Westbury in the season finale on April 30.

Six teams will qualify for the Skyline Tournament, which begins with first-round games hosted by the No. 3 and 4 seeds on May 3.  The semifinals are set for May 5, with the Skyline Championship Game on May 7.  In the abbreviated 2021 season, the Privateers finished second in the Skyline with a 5-1 record, but were unable to participate in the conference tournament.

"I'm very excited about our team's potential for the upcoming season," Head Coach Kerri Handras said.  "After finishing last season in second place—a program best—the expectations are high this year.  With the core players returning and talented new additions, we are determined to compete for a conference championship this year."
