The Maritime College baseball team has put together five straight 20-win seasons and six straight trips to the Skyline Conference baseball tournament under head coach
Charlie Barbieri and their future continues to look bright as their 2020 recruiting class was ranked 22nd in the nation by Perfect Game.
Perfect Game is an amateur scouting service that is held in high regard in the baseball world and the 2020 class marks the second recruiting class in the last three years that has been nationally ranked after the 2018 class was ranked 50th. Perfect Game put the Privateers 22nd with nine recruits and a total of four points. Xavier Cruz, Anthony Madigan, Patrick Bartoletta, Daniel Green, Shonesh Gurung, John Ohanian, Nick Pinggera, James Tighe, and Vasilios Vafakos were listed by Perfect Game as the 2020 recruiting class for the Privateers.
Barbieri also noted that the Privateers 2020 recruiting class added some big names outside of Perfect Games database including Freddy Forgione, Jake Bernardi, and Gatlin Hines. Although the 2020-21 season has been far from normal, the Maritime baseball team's outlook on the upcoming spring as well as future years remains promising with a strong core of returning starters and plenty of talent in their recruiting classes.
