THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – Coming off of a win in their opener the Privateer football team heads to the road for a Friday night matchup with the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers in the 10th Annual Chowder Bowl with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m.

Series History: As the teams meet for the 10th time over the last 11 seasons, the Privateers hold a 6-3 advantage in their previous nine meetings. The Buccaneers have won the last two meetings with the last Maritime victory coming back in 2014 when the Privateers pulled out a 31-30 victory on Reinhart Field.
Harvey Relief: In conjunction with the State University of New York, Maritime College is accepting monetary donations that will be used to purchase pallets of the most-needed goods to five to relief organizations in Texas. Visit

Players of the Week: Following the team's 59-13 win last Saturday, the Privateers had three players earn ECFC Player of the Week honors. Junior
Thomas Wright (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) was named Offensive Player of the Week, senior linebacker
Kendal Parker (Evans, Ga./Lakeside) nabbed Defensive Player of the Week accolades, and senior
Matthew Murphy (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Century Club: Junior wide receiver
Brandonn Drumgole (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./Mt. Sinai) became just the fourth player in program history to record 100 receiving yards in a game as he had 101 yards through the air a week ago.

The Price is Wright: Wright became just the second quarterback to throw for three touchdowns in one game, as he found senior
Matt Ward (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) once and Drumgole on two occasions.

Coming Up 7s: Murphy was 7-for-7 on his extra point attempts, which is tied for second on the all-time list.

Lucky 13: In games where the Maritime defense holds opponents to 13 or fewer points, the Privateers hold a 20-3 in such games since the start of the 2008 season.

Around the ECFC: In addition to Maritime and Mass. Maritime on Friday night, Anna Maria will host Nichols in Paxton, Mass. for a 7 p.m. start. Tomorrow ECFC play opens with Husson visiting Dean at 12 p.m., with other non-conference matchups featuring Plymouth State at Mount Ida, Greensboro at Gallaudet, Fitchburg State at Castleton, and Hartwick making the trip to Alfred State.Â
