Series History: Maritime and Castleton have split their eight all-time meetings dating back to the 2009 season. Maritime's last win came back in 2013, when the Privateers handled the Spartans by a 38-6 score. Last year in Vermont, the Privateers were edged by Castleton by a slim 32-31 difference.

Coin Toss: On hand for Saturday's coin toss will be Tom Scott, Class of 1977, who recently celebrated his 40th reunion at Homecoming two weeks ago. Scott was a member of the Maritime football team as a guard and a linebacker during his time at Maritime. He retired from the role of President's Technical Advisor at ARAMCO, and holds an Unlimited Master and has pilotage on the Delaware Bay and River. Scott will be joined by his wife Tetyana, who currently serves as a sales manager for Proctor and Gamble.

Hero Appreciation Day: Saturday will be Hero Appreciation Day on Reinhart Field, members of the Maritime Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be selling Hero Appreciation Day T-Shirts for $10.

Other Hero Appreciation Day activities will include several branches of the United States Military joining the Maritime captains to the midfield for the coin toss prior to the game.

ECFC Community Service Day: In an effort coordinated by the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference, there will be a canned good drive at this weekend's conference matchup with Castleton. Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to the game to donate to local food shelters.

Think Pink: Members of the Maritime football team will be wearing pink shoelaces, arm bands and other items to help raise awareness for breast cancer research, and to recognize and honor those that are battling all forms of cancer.

One if by Ground/One if by Air: Junior
Matthew Mavrovich (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Mt. Sinai) recorded an interception return for a touchdown in Saturday's win over Mount Ida. He also scored earlier this season on a fumble recovery against Merchant Marine. In doing so he became the first player in program history to record both a fumble recovery and interception for touchdowns in a career.

Sack Attack: With 21 sacks this season as a team, the Maritime defensive unit has recorded the third highest total for a Privateer team in program history. The 2015 team set the program record with 26 sacks in a single-season.

Next Passing Touchdown: The next Maritime passing touchdown will result in the 15th passing touchdown by the Privateers on the 2017 season, which will eclipse the previous program record of 14 set both in 2016 and tied by the Privateers this season.

No Pets/Restroom Reminder: As school policy states; pets are not permitted at Maritime College sporting events with the exclusion of service animals. Fans are also reminded to not enter Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium through the team access doorways, and should use the outdoor stairs or ramp to access the first floor restrooms.
