GREENWICH, Conn. – The Maritime rifle team competed in their lone 'home' event of the 2016-17 season, as the Privateers hosted the Wentworth Rifle team in Greenwich, Connecticut. The air rifle team picked up its first win of the season by a 2150-2063 margin.

Seven members of the team shot for the Privateers, with seniors
Cam Albrant (Northville, Mich./Northville),
Bradley Boomhower (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) and
Vincent Liang (Taiwan/Benjamin N. Cardozo) along with junior
David Tindall (Bear, Del./Delaware Military Academy) each contributing to the team's win as the quartet amassed a combined score of 2150.

Boomhower and Liang led the way for Maritime as the pair matched high scores of 543, Tindall shot a 542, while Albrant rounded out the scoring positions with a 522. Freshman
Brandon Hyner () shot a 523, while sophomore
Katia Aaron (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) shot 517, while freshman
Lilianna Di Gesu (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) posted a score of 449.

For both Liang and Albrant, the pair shot personal bests while both Tindall and Boomhower returned to the team after being away from the team in the fall semester.

Maritime will travel to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia this weekend to compete against the home squad as well as John Jay and Canisius in MAC Rifle action.
