ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Maritime Cross Country teams competed in their second event of the 2016 campaign, as the team traveled north to take part in the Bard Raptors Invitational on the Bard College campus.

At the event, the Maritime men's team finished in fifth position of 20 teams, while the women's squad took home 11th place of 19 complete teams. The men's team totaled 147 points for their top-five finish, while the women amassed 285 points and just missed out on a top-10 finish by 21 points.
The women were led by sophomore
Jean Colgan (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North), who put together a career-best time of 21:09, as she finished in 32nd position in the race. Fellow sophomore
Emily Zink (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) was a few seconds off the pace, as she clocked in with a time of 21:31.

Freshman
Bethany Champlin () had a 22:20 as she finished 57th across the line, while freshman
Erin Teige (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Dominican Academy) registered a time of 23:40 on the afternoon. Maritime's last scoring position came from sophomore
Katia Aaron (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence), who picked up a 24:35 for the Privateers.

Rookie
Whitney Taylor () also ran in the competition and finished with a time of 27:19, followed by sophomore
Riley Huang (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) with a time of 30:45.
Leading the charge for the men's squad was rookie
Kyle O'Brien (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington), who finished in fifth position individually with a time of 27:06. Classmate
Bryan Tornatore (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeyoye Falls-Lima) was next to score points for Maritime with a 28:27 as he finished in 18th place.

Crossing the finish line in 45th place with a time of 30:08 was freshman
Marco Rosado (Lajas, Puerto Rico/Academia San Agustin y Espiritu Santo), who was followed closely by sophomore
Vincent Cotrone (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) with a time of 30:11. Junior
Timmy Montera (Bellmore, N.Y./Bellmore JFK) rounded out the scoring positions for the Privateers with a 30:25 as he was the 50th runner across the finish line.

Tom Mongeau (Middletown, N.J./Mater Dei) recorded a time of 31:07, followed by
Jonathan Trencheny (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Holy Trinity) with a 31:30. Freshman
Derek Nielsen (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Stissing Mountain) had a time of 31:38, while senior
Matt Papania (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) crossed with a time of 31:57. Sophomore
Tanner Russo (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) rounded out the Privateer roster with a time of 37:18.

After their annual trip to Bard, the Privateers will return to the Bronx for their next completion as Maritime will take part in the York Invitational hosted at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, September 25 at 10 a.m.
