THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – Taking part in postseason play for just the second time in program history, the Maritime football team will head to Philadelphia on Sunday to take on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Engineers at 5 p.m. in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl Championship at historic Franklin Field.

Series History: This will be the first time that the Privateers will meet the Engineers on the gridiron. The two teams had a pair of mutual opponents in 2016 and collected 1-1 records against those teams, Maritime defeated the Merchant Marine Mariners, while RPI knocked off the Norwich Cadets in non-conference action.

Maritime Last Game Recap: In the last Privateer game, Maritime knocked off the Gallaudet Bison by a score of 31-28. The Privateers opened up a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and held off the late Bison charge in the second half. Defensively, the Privateers held Gallaudet to just 56 yards of total offense, while generating 464 yards of their own. Of the team's 464 yards on offense, the Privateers had a season-high 259 yards on the ground.

RPI Last Game Recap: In the famed 'Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game' between local rivals RPI and Union, the Engineers came out on top by a score of 21-12. RPI had its second-highest rushing total on the year with 373 yards on the ground. Defensively, it was also the Engineers' second-best performance of the season, allowing just 12 points to the Dutchmen.

All-Conference Selections: On Thursday, it was announced that Maritime had 12 members of the team earn all-conference accolades. The team had four first team all-league selections; two second team all-league selections and six named honorable mention.

Important Franklin Field Information:
-Gates open one hour prior to the start of the contest; 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
-Franklin Field prohibits bags larger than 12" x 12" x 6" from being brought into the facility. All bags are subject to search upon entry.
-Animals are not permitted inside Franklin Field with the exception of service animals.
-Bottles and cans; coolers; fireworks; laser pointers; and noisemakers are prohibited inside Franklin Field. Smoking in seated areas is not allowed.
-Cameras and umbrellas are permitted inside Franklin Field, as long as they do not obstruct the view of other patrons.
Parking Information: On-site parking is available in the lots surrounding the stadium. The two most convenient lots are located at 34th and Chestnut Street; and South Street and Convention Avenue. Parking rates may vary.Â
Around the ECFC: Eastern Collegiate Football Conference champion Husson will square off with the Western New England Golden Bears on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Springfield, Massachusetts. The matchup will be one of 16 first round matchups in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

The season has concluded for Anna Maria, Castleton, Gallaudet, Mount Ida, as they look ahead to next season in the ECFC. Becker and Norwich have also wrapped up their seasons; while Becker will be moving into the new Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC); and Norwich heading for the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) next season.
Alfred State moves from a Division III independent to the ECFC next season; while Dean College begins its transition phase to becoming a full-time NCAA Division III member next year, and will compete in the ECFC.
