THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – This weekend the Maritime men's and women's lacrosse teams will be hosting the Maritime Cup on Reinhart Field on the Maritime College campus beginning on Friday evening, and last through to Sunday.

The Privateer women's team will kick off the weekend with a 5 p.m. start against the Maine Maritime Mariners in their first-ever meeting. The men's teams of both Maritime and Maine Maritime will also compete later in the evening at 8 p.m. on Reinhart Field.
 
At halftime of the men's game on Friday evening, the Athletics Department and team will be recognizing the 1986 ECAC Championship Team, which was announced LAST WEEK.
 
On Saturday, Maine Maritime will play once again as the Mariners will take on the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers. The women's game will start at 11 a.m. followed by the men's contest at 2 p.m.
 
A dinner for all six teams will be held for the players and coaches following the conclusion of the men's contest.
 
The final day will feature the host Privateers taking on Mass. Maritime with the women's contest beginning at 11 a.m., followed again by the men's team taking on the Buccaneers at 2 p.m.
 
Throughout the day on Sunday, the men's lacrosse team will be collecting donations of ground coffee for Homes for Heroes of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Fans and all others are encouraged to visit their local supermarket or convenience store and purchasing sealed packages of coffee for donation. Earlier this school year, the men's lacrosse team collected t-shirts as part of a CLOTHING DONATION that was distributed to our Veterans on Veteran's Day last November.

In addition to the donations that will be taking place throughout the day, following the conclusion of the men's game on Sunday afternoon, there will be a youth contest featuring local teams from the metropolitan area.
