BRIDGEPORT, CONN. – Several members of the Maritime Men's Lacrosse team spent part of their Veterans Day at Homes for the Brave in downtown Bridgeport to donate the articles of clothing that had been collected in the weeks leading up to the holiday.
Â
The team collected approximately 60 articles that included t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatpants and other unused articles of clothing to be dispersed to the American Veterans who are currently homeless. The veterans utilize Homes for the Brave as a place to search for and find jobs while being given a place to call home during their transition back to everyday life in the United States after serving the country.
Â
"We had a great donation in just a short amount of time," commented Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Daniel Lawrence. "We would like to thank all of those who donated, as we know these donations will go a long way in helping our veterans."
Â
Those who donated to the donation were members of the Maritime Men's Lacrosse team, Maritime Athletic Director
Heather MacCulloch, the Student Life and Residential Life departments at Maritime College, the facilities crew, as well as the men's basketball team, women's soccer team, sports medicine department in the Maritime Athletics Department.
