        GALLOWAY, N.J. (March 12, 2014) – The Maritime women's lacrosse team lost to Richard Stockton College, 17-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the Ospreys' Multipurpose Athletic Field. The Privateers' record falls to 0-2 on the young campaign, while Stockton improves to 3-1.
 
       Freshman Jane Quinn (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) led the way offensively with two goals, while classmate Tina Kang (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream South) (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream South) chipped in with her first collegiate tally. Quinn also picked up a team-best two draw controls. Sophomore Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) and freshman Savannah Hardwick (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling) (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling) tied for the team-lead among field players with three groundballs apiece, with Lavelle also leading the all players in the game with two caused turnovers. In goal, sophomore Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) made three saves and also picked up three GBs.
 
        The Ospreys scored six times in the opening seven-plus minutes of the game and then added five more goals later in the first half to take an 11-0 lead into the halftime break. After two quick scores by Stockton to start the second half, the Privateers got on the board when Quinn found the back of the net to make it 13-1 with 20:33 to play in the second.
 
        Only two more goals were scored in the next 13-plus minutes and they was by the Ospreys at 14:56 and 9:28. Kang scored her first of the season with 7:12 to play and Quinn added her second of the game shortly after Stockton responded to Kang's goal. A late goal by the Ospreys rounded out the scoring at 17-3.
 
        For Stockton, juniors Zoey Kramer and Nicole Miller both scored five goals apiece. Senior Carlie Flake and freshman Kim Raichelson each contributed two tallies and the Ospreys had three other girls score once. Sophomore Ciarra Stroud had a game-high six ground balls and four draw controls.
 
        The Privateers return to action this Friday, March 14, for a home game against Elms College scheduled for 4 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
