        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2014) – The Maritime men's basketball team play host to Skyline Conference opponent Yeshiva University on Saturday night. Tipoff will be at 8:30 p.m. at Riesenberg Gym. At the game, the Privateers will hold their first annual Coaches vs. Cancer Night.
 
Scott And Rest Of His Staff Will Wear Sneakers For Coaches Vs. Cancer
        Maritime second-year head coach Jake Scott will be wearing sneakers with his suit on Saturday night along with the rest of his coaching staff and the athletic department support staff. This is because the program will be taking part in Coaches vs. Cancer.
 
        Suits and Sneakers is a national Coaches vs. Cancer event that is designed to raise awareness about the fight against cancer and the American Cancer Society by encouraging member coaches and their coaching staffs to wear sneakers with their suits at games held this weekend to show support for the Coaches vs. Cancer program. By wearing sneakers, participating coaches help raise awareness about cancer and the importance that nutrition and physical activity play in reducing one's risk of the disease. Additionally, this weekend helps promote the American Cancer Society as a place for people facing cancer to turn for free information, day-to-day help, and emotional support.

        Saturday's meeting will be the 68th between the two schools, which is the Maritime men's basketball program's most games played against another school. Yeshiva holds the advantage in the all-time series, 37-30. Last year, the Maccabees won both meetings – 72-50 at home on Dec. 6, 2012, and 76-68 in the season finale at Maritime on Feb. 16, 2013.
