FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (May 3, 2013) – Maritime baseball fell to the Farmingdale State Rams on Friday by the score of 5-0. The Privateers will now face the loser of tonight's game between Purchase and Old Westbury on Saturday.
The game was scoreless for the first two and half innings until the bottom of the third when the Rams senior David Zilnicki drove a triple to right center to score senior Eric Weiner to take a 1-0 lead. The Rams second run came in the fourth inning on a squeeze play by senior Ron Remi that would plate freshman Dalton McCarthy to give Farmingdale a 2-0 advantage.
In the bottom half of the seventh, Farmingdale tacked on two more runs for insurance when sophomore Anthony Alvino knocked a two RBI single to make the score 4-0 and they would add another run the eighth to lead themselves to a playoff victory.

Kurt Niemeyer (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior) (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior) started for the Privateers tossing seven innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, walking four and striking out one. Junior
Thomas Bauer (Wantagh, N.Y./MacArthur) went 2-for-3 with two singles in today's game.
Maritime will now be matched up against the loser of the Purchase-Old Westbury game. Start time will be at 1 p.m.
