        BRONX, N.Y. (April 28, 2013) – Maritime baseball fell to the Lehman Lighting on Sunday by the score of 10-4. The Privateers now end the regular season with a 14-20 record and were 8-8 in conference play.
 
        Maritime did strike first in the first inning when senior Joey Semler (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) hit a sacrifice fly to center field that would score junior Nick Galli (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph By the Sea). The Lightning would eventually answer back by scoring three runs in the bottom half of the second inning. Senior Freddy Parra had a two RBI double in the inning and junior Kevin Hernandez also drove in a run on a single.
 
        Lehman would eventually tack on two more runs in the fifth and five more in the eighth to wrap the game up and improve to 13-16 overall on the season.
 
        Sophomore Matthew Sollin (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) was 2-for-4 with a RBI and freshman D'Jaun Seymour (Nassau, Bahamas/Rabun Gap) was 1-for-3 with a solo homer.
 
        Lehman's sophomore starter Justin Moises, pitched very well tossing eight and a third innings allowing only eight hits and four runs (three earned), while striking out four.
 
        Maritime baseball will be starting the Skyline Conference Tournament on Wednesday, May 1. Their opponent will be the St. Joseph's Golden Eagles and the game will be played at their home, Alfano Field in Patchogue, N.Y. Start time is still to be decided.
