WEST HARRISON, N.Y. (March 23, 2013) – The Maritime baseball club snapped their two game winning streak by losing both games of a conference doubleheader to the Purchase Panthers today, losing 7-1 in game one and 5-0 in the second game. The Privateers fall to 4-11 on the season and 0-2 to open up conference play.
In game one, sophomore
Ryan Alsdorf (Bethel, N.Y./Sullivan West) (Bethel, N.Y./Sullivan West) took the mound for Maritime tossing four innings of work, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, walking two and striking out six. Junior

Wantagh, N.Y./MacArthur) had two hits as well as freshman
Bruce Tyler (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) who also contributed with two hits of his own. Senior
Joey Semler (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) returned to the lineup and drove in the lone run for the Privateers. Panthers senior righty Matt Paz allowed only one run, giving up eight hits over eight innings of work, while striking out four to earn his third victory of the year.
In game two, Maritime could only manage to produce three hits against Purchase arms Mitchell Paz and Kevin McQuade. Senior
Christopher Meyers (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) started for the Privateers going 5.1 innings, giving up nine hits, allowing five runs, and striking out four. Sophomore Robert Robles, who had an in-side-the-park homerun, and Junior John Jonas both drove in two RBIs apiece for the Panthers as they would come away with a 5-0 victory.
Maritime returns home tomorrow as they open up another conference doubleheader against the Mount St. Mary Knights. Game one start time is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Reinhart Field.
