TROY, N.Y. (March 21, 2013) – The Maritime women's lacrosse team lost its Skyline Conference contest up at Sage College, 12-8, on Thursday afternoon at RPI's Renwyck Field. The Privateers fall to 1-4 (0-2 Skyline) on the season, while the Gators improve to 1-4 (1-0 Skyline).
Freshman
Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) registered four goals to lead Maritime, while sophomore
Charlotte Acklin (Lewes, Del./West Broward (Fla.)) (Lewes, Del./West Broward) contributed two tallies. Freshman
Jackie Golematis (Douglaston, N.Y./St. Francis Prep.) (Douglaston, N.Y./St. Francis Prep.) added a goal and an assist and matched Lavelle with a team-high three draw controls.

Caroline Reynolds (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) also scored for the Privateers. Sophomore
Sydney Carella (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) scooped up four ground balls and in net, freshman goalie
Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) recorded 16 saves.
The Privateers were trailing 7-4 at halftime, as Acklin and Lavelle scored two goals apiece. They rallied back to tie the game at 8-8 with 20:56 to go in the second half, but four unanswered goals by the Gators proved the difference.
Sage was led by senior Alexa Pajak, who scored a game-high seven goals and added one assist. Sophomore Emily Stevenson contributed two goals and classmate Lindsay Millett had a goal and two assists. Freshman Jordan Conroy registered a goal and an assist and classmate Mallory Hansen rounded out the Gators' scoring with one tally. In goal, senior Courtney Reed stopped 11 Maritime shots to claim the victory.
Up next, Maritime will host Skyline-foe Farmingdale State this Saturday, March 23, at 1 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
